Since 1993, LHA has offered the FSS Program to families in either the Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher Programs. The program helps families work toward becoming financially self-sufficient. Each family works with a case manager to develop an individual plan for up to a 5 year period. The plan includes the steps that the family will take to reach their goals and the support or help they might need. Families who reach their goals may receive an escrow savings account which is based on deposits made following increases in rent resulting from increases in earned income for the household. Support services include case management & financial assistance.

By clicking the link does not enroll you in the program, but you will recieve additional forms to complete. A visit by a Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator will be scheduled to fully explain the program and, at that time, you can decide if your family would benefit from this program. This is a voluntary program that does not affect your eligibility for housing.
